Without fear of pressure, Huawei’s mobile phone shipments buck the trend and accelerate growth

Huawei’s results for the first three quarters showed that mobile phone shipments reached 185 million units, an increase of 26% year-on-year. It did not directly announce the data for the third quarter. However, it can be estimated that three quarters can be calculated with the data given by the market research agency. The year-on-year growth rate of shipments in the quarter reached 28.8%, which is a significant increase from the year-on-year growth rate of shipments in the second quarter. It is still very strong despite the continued impact of the United States.

According to the data released by Huawei in the first half of the year, the shipment of mobile phones was 118 million. From this, the shipment of mobile phones in the third quarter was 67 million. The data for the third quarter of 2018 released by IDC shows the shipments of Huawei mobile phones. For 52 million units, it is estimated that the growth rate of its mobile phone shipments in the third quarter was 28.8%.

IDC’s data for the second quarter of this year showed that Huawei’s mobile phone shipments were 58.7 million units, a year-on-year growth rate of 8.3%. Comparing the data in the second quarter, it can be seen that the chain growth rate was 14.1%, and the year-on-year growth rate was more than three times that of the second quarter.

Without fear of pressure, Huawei’s mobile phone shipments buck the trend and accelerate growth

The growth rate of Huawei’s mobile phone shipments in the second quarter fell sharply, mainly due to the influence of US factors, which led to a year-on-year decline of more than 10% in shipments in overseas markets. The third quarter data showed that it had digested the United States. The adverse effects of factors have re-entered the rapid growth channel. At this growth rate, Huawei’s mobile phone shipments this year are expected to reach 230-250 million units, which has basically achieved its shipment target for this year.

In the third quarter, Huawei’s mobile phone shipments reached 67 million, which is rapidly getting closer to Samsung’s mobile phone shipments. According to the data in the third quarter of last year, Samsung’s mobile phone shipments were 72.2 million. If Samsung’s mobile phone shipments remain unchanged in the third quarter of this year, the gap between Huawei’s mobile phone shipments and Samsung’s mobile phone shipments will only be 7.2%. Huawei’s mobile phone shipments in the fourth quarter are often the quarter with the highest annual shipments. In the fourth quarter, Huawei’s mobile phones may be expected to achieve the goal of surpassing Samsung.

Originally, Huawei mobile phones were expected to overtake Samsung in the fourth quarter of this year and become the world’s largest mobile phone company. However, due to the influence of US factors in the second quarter, the growth rate of Huawei mobile phone shipments began to decline. The industry was worried that the time for Huawei mobile phones to catch up with Samsung would be delayed. Now, Huawei is expected to continue to achieve the goal of catching up with Samsung in the fourth quarter of this year, which undoubtedly makes people admire Huawei overcoming difficult times.

Another disadvantage currently facing Huawei mobile phones is its partnership with Google. Its flagship mobile phone mate30 released in September is not allowed to carry Google GMS services. Subsequently, Google has prevented consumers from manually installing Google GMS services. In response to this problem, Huawei is pushing its own HMS service to solve this problem and avoid affecting the sales of its mobile phones in overseas markets. However, recent US media reports indicate that Google may soon resume providing GMS services for Huawei mobile phones. The problem is resolved, and Huawei’s goal of overtaking Samsung’s mobile phones in the fourth quarter will be more likely to be achieved.

Since June of this year, Huawei has been working hard to resolve the impact of US factors, stocking US components, and looking for alternative components. Recently, Huawei said that it has produced 5G equipment that does not contain US components. Now Huawei mobile phones have achieved such a big gain in the third quarter. The increase in magnitude shows that Huawei has made great progress in addressing the impact of American factors, which will strengthen Huawei’s confidence in overcoming difficulties.
