China and Africa News on May 8th GSA released the latest reports on the Internet of Things, LTE, and 5G. The report shows that in the first quarter of this year, the number of 5G devices released worldwide has increased to 703, an increase of more than 28%, accounting for 61.3% of all released 5G devices, of which 431 have been put into commercial use.
The report pointed out that with the rapid advancement of 5G network deployment and the increasing variety of terminal categories, global 5G users are also growing rapidly. As of March 2021, the number of global 5G users has increased by 57%, reaching nearly 401 million, accounting for 4.19% of the total global mobile users.
GSA predicts in the report that the proportion of LTE users will reach a peak of 64.4% by the end of 2021, and the number of users will reach a peak of 6.33 billion by the end of 2022.
