Panasonic PAN1740A BLE module is available for sale at Mouser to support voice commands and motion recognition

September 9, 2020-Focusing on the introduction of new products and providing a massive inventory of Electronic components distributor Mouser Electronics (Mouser Electronics) stocks Panasonic’s PAN1740A series RF modules from now on. The device has a fully integrated baseband processor and radio transceiver, and supports Bluetooth 5.0 low energy connections. This series of compact modules supports up to eight connections, shortens the startup time, and is an ideal solution for remote control units that need to support motion and gesture recognition as well as voice commands.

The Panasonic PAN1740A module supplied by Mouser Electronics integrates an audio unit to provide a simple interface for external codecs that support PCM/I²S interfaces, MEMS microphones that support PDM interfaces, and sample rate converter devices. This series of multifunctional modules use programmable Arm® Cortex®-M0 CPU, which can be used as a stand-alone application processor or a data pump in a managed system. Panasonic PAN1740A only consumes 4.9 mA current in transmit or receive mode, and it can support normal signal coverage or transmit power only by using a button battery. The link budget of these 9 mm × 9.5 mm × 1.8 mm modules is 93 dBm (receive sensitivity: -93 dBm, transmit sensitivity: 0 dBm).

The PAN1740A transceiver has passed the Bluetooth 5.0 standard and the EU CE RED, FCC and IC certifications. The module uses dedicated hardware to implement the low-power Bluetooth link layer, and supports custom configuration files and all Bluetooth SIG configuration files.

The PAN1740A module is supported by the PAN1740A evaluation kit. The kit contains two easy-to-use USB dongles with a USB to UART converter that allows hardware to access the module pins. In addition, it also provides a J-Link debug interface to evaluate customized firmware.
